Well, I was told to put Tinker in her crate, but have it in the same room. Dogs are instintively pack creatures. They feel more comfortable when they are not alone. He cries in the middle of the night because he has to pee. He is not used to peeing on a pad in a crate. Tinker did the same thing!! I got a plastic tub and put the pad in it, and set it next to my bed. Whenever she woke up and cried I put her in there so she could pee. It helped a lot with potty training her if I did that. Usually she would just go back to sleep. I put the crate in my bed with me and when she would cry I just stuck my fingers through the wholes in the door, she would smell me, and go right back to sleep. I also put a blanket over the kennel, because 1) she would get very cold with the fan on and 2) it helped keep any light out so she would not be afraid and think I am leaving her or anything. So if he starts crying I would take him to go potty, and then stick him back in there. He is just used to being with his mom and siblings so he is probably just scared right now. He will get used to it all, but I would try and start a routine everynight so he knows what is happening and is not afraid of anything. I promise it will get better just be patient. Try and take naps when he is taking naps that was the only way I got a good sleep when Tinker was little. |
