I can't say I'd NEVER have an unregistered dog...but I bet my husband would throw a fit if I ever wanted one. He's a big "papers snob" as I call him, lol.
Looking for an AKC registered yorkie helped narrow our search, and also give us hope that we were getting a true purebred that was breed standard, and comes from the like. Now that we have a registered dog, I doubt we will ever own one that's not.
