if you find a dog, why don't you fly there to pick up the dog in person? That way you can see the breeder (or family) and their dogs in person. If I find a puppy I want that is far away from me one day, I'll fly there in person and pick it up...I don't know if I would take the chance on having it shipped (although people do it every day)

Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
