Give it some time as most baby teeth should fall out on their own. You can have any that don't fall out on their own pulled when you neuter him. Just be prepared for some stinky breath until all the baby teeth are out - food gets trapped in between the teeth and it can stink stink stink. If you are able to, brush his teeth once a day to keep them clean - this will probably also help baby teeth to fall out on their own. Normally, I would also suggest giving them stuff to chew on because that helps teeth fall out, but I don't think he can chew with his cast on.
QUESTION #1 WHEN I TAKE HIM FOR CAST CHANGE DO I HAVE BABY TEETH PULLED? You can have them check his teeth, but you should wait and see if they fall out on their own first. Give it another month or two
QUESTION #2 WILL THEY PUT HIM OUT? Yes, he will need to be put under to have his teeth pulled. Most people do this at the same time they spay/neuter their dogs.
QUESTION #3 IS IT TOO SOON TO HAVE ANYTHING DONE SINCE HE JUST HAD MAJOR SURGERY? Yeah...I would wait
QUESTION # 4 IS THERE A CHANCE THESE TEETH CAN STILL FALL OUT ON THEIR OWN? Yes, most probably will - but most likely some of them will need to be pulled. Lacy had to have her 4 baby canines pulled at 7 or 8 months of age
QUESTION # 5 IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN PUT ON THIS THING ON HIS LIP.. WHEN TOUCHING IT HE CRIES? You might be able to get some antibiotic ointment for it when you bring him back for a cast change. I'd have them check it out then. Or call them and see if they suggest anything.
QUESTION # 6 HOW MUCH DOES IT COSTS TO GET TEETH PULLED? This can really vary widely from vet to vet. If you do it at the same time as he is neutered, it shouldn't be too much more to have teeth pulled.
You can use A&M for all your vet services if you want. They are mostly a referrel hospital but they take regular appointment as well. |
