I'd say you're doing the right thing. They are just being stubborn. When we swiched Coby, he was reluctant. We used the kibble as rewards when playing or teaching commands. That got him used to eating the kibble. Also I tried one thing I saw on Dog Whisperer that I thought was weird. He "handles" all the food so his scent is on the food. When Coby wasn't eating, I thought "what the heck" and tried it. He definitely ate better when the food smelled like me. Go figure.........
