I have two questions. My yorkie is a new addition to the family and is an adorable 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 year old. She has her own way to go and her own habits, most of them bad. We live in the country and when I take her out to potty ( she was not housetrained and basically found running free for over a week). Anyway if I don't stay with her every step, she's off and running. I have to put her harness and leash on and then she acts like she is being punished. She pulls and fights the leash. That is definitely a problem since the coyotes might have a snack. Yikes. What should I do? Just persevere?
My other question is not critical but more curious. She has very very thick bristly black hairs ( almost quill-like) mixed in with her facial hair around her mouth area. What is the purpose of these hairs? And will they eventually go away as she gets older?
Well thanks for reading this post and hope you weren't too bored.

to get her used to the harness and leash you can put them on while in the house and just let her drag the leash around and carry on as she does.
the bristly hairs on her face are whiskers. they wont go away. you can trim them though.
