I have a Standard Poodle, Cassie as well as Teddi, my yorkie. The absolutely LOVE each other! I was actually trying to get a tiny poodle that was the same color as my standard before I got a yorkie. I tried for about a year and couldn't find one that I liked so then I moved on to a yorkie....it still took me about a year to find one of those I liked too! I would never try to groom a poodle...with the curls it is so hard...it is even hard to find a groomer who does a good job. Sometimes it looks good and then they shake and it looks bad.
