I worked for a dog boutique for two years and did a lot of the ordering. When you have a retail business, you apply for a wholesale number, and most of these clothing/accessory companies require that wholesale number for the business to place an order and get wholesale price. Most boutiques double the price of what they pay for retail...so if the wholesale price was $15, then the retail price will be $30....but pricing may vary from store to store. I've seen some boutiques triple the wholesale price!

Retail customers can buy directly from a lot of the companies...most have websites that you can order off of.
