I agree. When we lived in the apartment, we tried to paper-train Buddy. I put the paper all over the kitchen floor (linoleum), but he would move the paper and poop on the floor. Since I knew we were moving into a house with a yard, I let him continue this bad habit since at least he wasn't doing it on the carpet. Buddy is completely potty trained, but when we moved into the house, he would still poop on the kitchen floor (again linoleum) at night when we went to bed (Buddy sleeps with us but we keep the doors open so he can get to his water if he needs it). One night I just blocked off the kitchen and he waited until morning to poop outside. Ever since, I block off the kitchen at night and he waits until morning. I think he just figured that the linoleum floor was the place to poop.
