The hair will quit poking in his eyes once it grows out a little bit. Once you cut it you have to continue to keep it trimmed. A flea comb works great to remove the eye boogies once they have been softened up with warm water.

I like to bath mine once a week also. They get so stinky by the end of just one week that I can't imagine waiting another week. I love to snuggle them after they have had a bath. I found using a conditioner helped with the dry skin (my jack russell mix was getting this) and also use a gentle dog shampoo.
