I found out today that Eddie made the semifinals of Alaska Pet Idol 2008. That in itself is not a big deal. The first round was based on monetary votes, and I ponied up $50 myself to make sure he made it (funds benefit a rescue group).
But on Saturday, he goes head to head with 30-plus other animals! All but two are dogs. The top 10 make the finals.
We've got a pretty cool act worked out. I'll warm up with some tricks (sit, down, spin both ways, shake, high-five, crawl, etc.), then we'll go into a mini-agility course. He'll jump over a hand-held jump, weave through my legs, go through a 2-foot cat tunnel, then finish off by climbing up some doggie steps and shooting a basket through a funnel.
He's almost flawless at home, but I know he's going to get stage fright. When he shuts down, he refuses to do anything. So send your best wishes, YT, we'll need it. |
Everyone at my house will be routing for you Eddie! From what I can tell, you are awesome, and I'm sure could steal the show!
Where abouts is this taking place/what time? Will there be spectators? My daughter lives in Anchorage with her fiancee. If she's not working or too busy getting things ready for their visit home on Monday, I'd like to tell her about it.
