Cry Followup

He's been identified. He was homeless & 1/4 mile from the shelter here in Muskegon. It was a terrible night with the 45mph+ wind and snow and 3* temp. It was the hypothermia that took him.

There's another homeless man that works a couple of hours a day with Chuck at the mission (there's someone from our church who pays him $20 a week to help out at there). Chuck called this morning and asked if I knew where we could get some heavy canvas that the man could use as a windbreak at the cemetary well pit where he lives. We had an old sail from our boat that we never got rid of so they stopped and got it for him when Chuck was taking him "home" this afternoon. It's big enough that he can layer it & use some cement blocks to hold it down over the opening. A retired pastor called tonight to find out if we had heard from the man who works with Chuck, she was afraid that it was him who had died. She has collected enough money so that he can be in a motel for the next 3 or 4 weeks. Chuck will move him in the morning.

This is reality. It is all around us. Prayers for those who need it the most tonight. It's another cold and snowy night up north.
