MONEY is already into play!!!
You are right about the overproduction, misrepresentation, etc. and I believe as you that all this increases the genetic defects. They are just so adorable and irrestible .... these "bad" breeders know it and take advantage of it by trying to breed smaller dogs and lying through their teeth!!!
I wish something could be done ... there are some pretty ridiculous laws ... one would think that there could be some good ones concerning "these people"!! The only thing I can see that we can do right now is .... Keep our sweet babies a carefully guarded secret!!!
