we frequently go from the USA to Canada.. however we are Canadian citizens.. however.. they will ask you if you have anything to declare... you will list whatever and say you have your dog with you... however.. sometimes they dont' even ask that.. so don't give more than what they ask for... have your papers ready to prove that he has had his rabies shots but out of the 100 plus times i've crossed the boarder with Layla i have YET to be asked to see that... even when going into the USA... so i don't think it is even going to be an issue.. should they ask you to pull over for a secondary inspection..w hen you fill out the form you must indicate under animals and livestock that you have a dog in the car (you aren't allowed to bring them in so make sure you have a crate because you will have to leave him in there and osmeone will go inspect your vehicle). Dog food is not an issue in Canada.. HOWEVER... when travelling from Canada INTO the USA you must have dog food that is made in the USA in its orginal packaging.. same with treats..
