Yorkies are 36 times more likely to have liver shunts than all other breeds put together. It is a very big problem. I would not buy from a breeder unless they have their parents bile acid tested and their bloodlines are clear of it. It can skip ten generations, so be very cautious. Doing the proper testing does significantly reduce the chances of getting an affected pup.
