That has just always been my experience. Every one of our little one's that we've had that had that done continued to need it done on a regular basis. Butt scootin' boogie, ya know?
It needed done on about an every three-month basis.
Oh! And Babbie said that she didn't allow groomers to do it - only the vet. IMO that is good advice. It's true that it is easy to do, but it is also true that someone who thinks they know what they are doing, but doesn't, can cause injury.
