Your are correct, I did not state it properly. I should have stated it more as a chemical coating rather than a color added. The result is the same in that the steel color is now a blue-black rather than a steel blue.

Breeders of Yorkies have always and will always have different ideas of what the correct color is and hopefully we will be able to make it thru the next 4 and 1/2 years. I have been to several shows where the dogs were nearly white and did not get DQ'd (and I just knew that they would be), so I think that most of the Judges will not enforce the DQ so strictly as it is written. We just have to watch out for the few that will.
