Supplementing is the hardest part of homecooking. Crushed egg shells are fine for calcium but calcium isn't going to work without vitamin D (I believe it is). This can be given through food or a pill but you have to be careful how much of the synthetic form you use. Then there is iron, zinc, manganese.... So sadly just giving egg shells will not meet all his needs.
