My oldest boy Justin had it last year ended up in the hospital with a 104 fever and throat so swollen he could not swallow.
He got so dehydrated ,He was on pain meds and could not get them down with the swollen throat the IV worked great pain meds and fluids , he was in the hospital 2days.
Took him a long time to recover very sleepy and the swollen glands,just no energy
.He did test positive for strep also.Poor kid he was miserable.
My niece had it when she was 12 also.
