Just saw this thread tonight. I'm so glad that so many prayers have already been sent up for Andrew, and that although it's still tough for him, he was spared from something so dangerous.
I had to sadly chuckle at his "I'd rather be in school comment". My daughter had two horrible spinal surgeries as a child. Please know that at some point, this will all be behind you, and you will only be left with a handful of those humorous remarks that will make great stories when the pain and fear is gone.
