I went to my vets the other day and was going to get some Nutri-Cal but the vet (he is a holistic vet) said that honey and water was better because the PH of the honey was better suited for dogs. Honey is filled with vitamins and easy to digest. I have also had other vets tell me to use honey for settling a upset stomach and I have used it for years for that with no problem. Honey is also good for dogs with allergies. Yes, some raw honey can have bacteria in it but so can many other things. I would not recommend for it a new born pup but I feel that it is very safe for older pups and adults.
