I know a lot of people with small dogs who have LP, though. Do make sure you get her evaluated. We have a member on our Maltese forum who did a "wait and see" when her dog was diagnosed with LP at age one. She waited until she was almost five and started to limp and show pain and found out it was going to be about three times as much as she thought it would be. She had to go to a specialist eight hours away because the surgery was much too complicated for local vets to do at that point, too.

How old is your sister's Yorkie?
Aww poor Lady... But you know she'll probably live to be about 30 )

Wow that's scary...do you know how much approx it costs to get them evaluated for it? Or is it just something the vet could tell from a simple check up?

She's a year old.
