You may not have parents now but you had them when you were younger....I think it's essential to have a strong adult person in your life as a child. It may not be your parents, it could be aunts, uncles or step or foster parents. I know that my children can help each other out but I don't feel that they are equipped to raise their siblings like that. Strong adults are necessary for those formative years.
