What worked for me with raising Bandit was from day one I used to put my hands in his mouth and when ever I felt. He has never been snappy with me ot anybody. I cant say that my new arrival Bijou, he is aggressive when taking things even an EMPTY food bowl from his reach, he skins his gums and show teeth, I hold him in hte back of his head and say firmly NO and then put the item back for him. he still snaps, then I tap him on his mouth but not hard just a finger tap and firmly said NO, NO bite then he licked me, you have to try to get him to lick you all over, face, neck hands, fingers and be gentle.

I think the mistake you may have made is allowed him to be Alfa, maybe he does not see you as Boss. If you are on the couch and he snaps to bite like that, it means you are IN HIS SPACE. maybe you should not reward him with this pleasure and make him EARN it. Try that

Bandit is never allowed on my bed or furniture, ONLY when I authorize it. He dare not jump on those things, they are MINE and he must earn time o nthem when I authorize it. Be firm and take the lead of Alfa or he will rule you, small or big they try for that position.
