Honey is to raise the blood sugar levels. When they get frightened or scared i think their blood sugar levels go down so the honey is like a pick me up for them. White gums is a bad sign, their gums should always be pinkish/dark pink. I think when they are white it means that their blood sugar dropped a lot, someone else maybe can correct me if i am wrong, i am not too sure. If their blood is low they can have a hypoglycemia attack, etc. You should get nutrical for you new pup. I just used honey cause i don't have nutrical around.
