Teeth Karma has come full circle-I am going to be the proud guardian of MAX/LUCKY/MYLES

Ok, folks...I am back again. I hope you all still remember me from my past posts and saga(s) regarding the neighborhood Yorkie known as Max/Myles/Lucky.
I stopped by my neighbors house to chat this evening. She immediately pointed to a chair in her house and said: "Do you want this dog?" I squinted, and there, among the cushions, was MYLES.
The story now is this: The folks that took him in (and whom I gave all my stuff to from the first "rescue") decided that they and he were not a good fit. Myles began to nip at the boys, and bit her husband. He was relegated to their bathroom while they tried to figure out what to do. Their solution was to bring him to my neighbor. She put an ad in the paper to give him away free to a good home, and is housing him, and getting him a vet check up tomorrow.
But she is moving soon (to Mobile, a long ways away) and has two dogs of her own right now.
So Myles will be joining my family(the lab/pit mix, and the two cats). The agreement was that she get him to the vet tomorrow for a check up and shots, etc... and I will take it from there.
What a story. What a dog. Poor guy has been lost twice, not claimed once, and shuttled between well intentioned homes all over the neighborhood. I intent to have this be his last stop. HOORAY!!!!!
I noticed that his original owners place seems very quiet suddenly, no kids or dogs running about. Strange vehicles going in and out. Maybe they moved. They did not put any fliers or seem to actively seek him out. So their chance is gone. And I don't feel the least bit guilty about it. Some here may disagree, but there comes a point...
The next best part of the story is that the family who just gave him up have taken in a more suitable dog (for their circumstances) from our neighborhood who was not being well taken care of, and was very ill. Owner confronted by the neighbors, and politely asked to either take the dog to the vet, or allow him to go to a more suitable home. This poor Boxer/Pit mix just wanders about, mooches handouts, and is generally neglected by owners. Owners voluntarily gave over custody to neighbors after coming down and seeing how their former dog loved the family and the kids.
So I guess it all works out in the end. But I am still a bit stunned. Those who predicted Myles might come my way again were correct.
I feel good.
But I will need some guidance and support in the coming months, as Myles again adapts to his new surroundings.
Best,
Matthew
