They are not perfect.....any body can loose paperwork, maybe they never received them. Regardless, I think AKC is the only registry that is really trying to keep breeders legitimate and the breeds pure. You don't find puppy mills using AKC because if you register more than 6 litters in one year you can eventually expect a visit from AKC. If your breeding facilities and records are not up to their standards then you will be given a warning and eventually suspended from using their registry if problems continue. They also require a DNA test on frequently used sires.
