Both my yorkies are self feeders and they only eat when hungry. I can almost tell you the times of day. However, I have a cat that is food obsessed. If I walk into the room his food is kept he eats, if I add more food to the bowl he eats, if my other cat is eating he eats and it doesn't matter if he just finished. I have to have him on weight control food becuase he just doesn't stop. The vet told me the Max does not have the chemical to signal when he is full. So I guess 1 out 4 pets is acceptable
