Congrats on your new addition. She'll bring much joy to your lives. I would try to work with her so she won't be aggressive around her food. Something I do with mine when I bring them home is sit with them on the floor and feed them from my fingers. I take their "things" whether it is food or toys and give them back. I get right in their face while they're puppies, so that there won't be any "protective" issues later. Of course, I'm starting with puppies. I suppose it would be a similar situation that you would just have to work with on an older one, but I would encourage you to do it. I think that is a habit you don't want to continue. Good luck.
