I can understand vaccinating the larger breeds of dogs at 8 weeks because they are normally weaned earlier and they are bigger. Yorkies are so tiny and vaccinations can be so hard on them. You just cannot see the dangers you may be causing by over vaccinating until it is too late. Too many breeders rush the puppies out the door too early and think they are doing good by vaccinating them first.

I hope Franklin makes a full recovery. He will need to be kept away from all other dogs for one month. Also, I don't know if he was let outside to poo or not but parvo can live in the yard for up to 6 months. I don't know if there is anything you can do about that.
you are absolutely right.. my vet gives half shots, or smaller depending on size.. he is very stern about and with the tiny dogs.. I do breed, but I also want my vets signature on paperwork verifying shots given.. I do need breed enough to warrant my having the vaccines on hand. But your so right about breeders buying from the wrong place, mostly to save money and have a larger profit. In face my vet in florida was telling me last week about a woman that just bought a yorkie, and took the puppy to see her. Asking the vet if what the breeder sold her for 75.00 for her puppy was ok to use.. My vet told her NOT and that is used on horses not tiny yorkies.. good think this woman was smart enough to ask the vet these questions..
