She did not want breakfast at all this morning. I managed to get a slice of turkey bacon and a few bites of oatmeal down her. I know that is not the best diet but it is better than nothing. She also took a dab of Nutrical. She drank some water, but she still is not drinking enough. This morning she refused the chicken broth. I am at my wits end with what to try next to get some fluids down her. I so don't want her to end up at the vet on an IV. Today she is just resting. I think I will start backing off on the pain meds (go from every 6 hours to every 8 hours) and see if that helps her appetite any. Can anyone tell me how to tell if a Yorkie is dehydrated? She is peeing, her pee is darker than it should be so I know she is not getting enough water, but how do I know when to worry? |
can you get an eye dropper from your local pharmacy??? when Layla is sick i more or less force the water in her using the eye dropper... and it works REALLY well... what about something like pedialyte that has a sweeter taste??? or put a bit of apple juice in it???
