We've never had our dog go over the edge of the pee pad holder. The sides around it are sloped up, so if they pee close to the edge, it runs right back down to the pad itself and soaks in there. The edges are molded plastic, so easy enough to wipe down, and the pads are a little large for it, so the plastic edges of the pad fit nicely under the snap-down edges making it unlikely the pee could go underneath. The tray below the pad also has a ridge around the outside, preventing pee from escaping even if it leaked underneath. In short, we've never had one drop to clean up outside the pad holder since we got it. Read the reviews on amazon.com.
