Having dealt with serious liver problems with my yorkie since he was a puppy(he is 3 1/2 now), I have to say that I would most definitely have a bile acid test done...It is sensitive to liver function specifically.

Abnormalities in the liver could go unnoticed without the bile acid test. This is a relatively inexpensive test and very important for yorkies with these symptoms to have done. Yorkies are 36 times more likely to have liver shunt than all other breeds combined...

Your dog is showing symptoms of liver problems...Extremely picky eater, frequent vomitting, and blood in urine are all signs...

Even if it's not liver shunt, it could be MVD/HMD

Also, please have them do a urinalysis and have them look for ammonium biurate crystals which could be causing the blood in the urine.

Blood in urine and picky eating were the first two things I noticed in my dog right before I took him in for a bile acid test.

Sorry for the lengthy post, but I feel it is important that you have this information.
