LOL...oh my goodness! I truly don't know how I would do it without my son or husband to do all the computer, TV and heavy lifting stuff! We just moved in May, and I had everything packed and organized..they just had to do the moving part.
My biggest quandry was WHEN to take the Yorkies. We put them in the basement bedroom in the old house (which they never, ever went in..it was a spooky basement) while we were moving all the stuff out of the main house, went to the new house 30 miles away and moved everything in, then I went back to get them. Our thinking was that nobody would get stepped on or run outside and get lost this way.
When I returned to the old house to collect my precious babies, they had completely ripped up the carpet in front of the door clawing at it and completely distressed at being left in the spooky basement bedroom with all the commotion going on upstairs. I was like, "man, all this time we lived here and they never tore anything up until the last day!!"
Thankfully we own the house and rented it out and downstairs is used for storage so it wasn't that big of a deal, but I really felt bad that they were so freaked out that they did that. Poor babies were beside themselves when I finally came to get them. |
