You can only take dogs on the subway if they are in a closed carrier, so big dogs im thinking no unless you get a big enough carrier but that would be very hard cause subways are always crowded. Actually one time i got a ticket for having the girls in no carrier on the train, i only went 2 stops and transit cops stopped us, that's why i went and got a carrier that would fit 2. Now i take them on the train like in that first pic, with their heads popping out and it's fine. On other trains like the LIRR, etc i heard you can take dogs without a carrier and it's fine. In taxi's i take mine all the time with or without a carrier, it just depends on if the driver allows it, most do cause they want money. There's so many cabs they all race to stop lol
