My thoughts about the overall look...
I have a Biewer. If I was able to change the colors in Gus' pictures I doubt anyone here would ever guess he wasn't a yorkie and I know other Biewer owners that have said the same about their own. In the real world, the white sometimes confuses people but I've never had anyone mistake him for a Maltese. I've heard, "I thought he was a yorkie but wasn't sure because of the white" so many times I've lost count.
There is even a breeder here that has a yorkie in her avatar that looks so much like Gus to me it's amazing.
If you were to compare the standards you would see the Yorkie and Biewer are described almost the same. The general appearance, size and shape of the skulls, eyes, and ears, the set of the ears, the length of the muzzle, the body, (other than the color) the coat, and so on. There is very little difference between the two standards, so if bred correctly, they should look alike.
Wait until you see more of them in person and I think you'll change your mind about the look.
Just my two cents. |
I know people look at my biewer funny(as do I), the thing is his ears are down, and maybe if they were up, he would look more biewer, but, I know a lot of people say, he's got maltese in him, or it looks like he has maltese in him.
