She limps rarely and does not seem to be in much pain I personally think she is only in stage 2 in both legs but the vet said surgery needs to be done because she could end up bow legged and the arthritis will be worse later on the longer we wait. I have done a lot of research because I was told that stage 2 does not need surgery but the consensus now with vets seems to be if it is in both legs it is better to do it sooner than later because the leg that is worse gets favored and puts more strain on the good leg and then they both end up in a higher stage which affects the surgeries success rate.
