I am just now reading this...my heart breaks for you...you did everything you could to keep your baby safe.....so please do not blame yourself. We had something like that happen with Izzy not to long ago. We also spent big dollars on fencing our yard and going over it with a fine toothed comb to make sure there were no gaps, holes that she could squeeze her little body out of...well low and behold I let her out and she started chasing the squirrels....I just turned my head to look at something else in the yard and no Izzy....I freaked....screamed for my husband...we found her down the street. She found a tiny hole in a section of fence that was not ours...but our neighbors...luckily for us we found her.
