Spike had trouble with down too. I got him in a sit, then I took the treat and held in in front of his nose, and slowly moved it down to his feet and then along the floor. It took a while, but once he got into that position, I would reward him instantly so he knew that was what I wanted. Once he worked out the down position, there were no problems. It was getting him into that position initially that was the hard part. |
