My sisters 15 y/o yorkie has cataracts, I would say he is about 75% blind but he still manages to get around pretty well. Surgery is an option, from what I heard it can range from $700 - $1100 dependent where you go. Post-op treatment is usually some eye drops to keep the eye moist. If you do opt for surgery, its not totally necessary to do both eyes, they seem to manage well with just one good one. Otherwise if surgery is not an option, yes she will go blind but as long as that doesn't affect her quality of life she will be fine. |
