TJ and Roxy both have good days and then bad days. TJ is 6 months and Roxy is 8 months. They only are 'trained' inside (for now). They too think that the wee wee pads are toys. I had gone through 3 separate incidents of coming home from work and finding the wee wee pads thorn to pieces. TJ even pooped out blue plastic. I tried the washable piddle pads but once they are peed on the whole thing is pretty much wet and the princess and prince refused to pee on it again, so I had piddle puddles all over. So then, I decided to get the dog little box and I put the wee wee pad inside. THIS WORKS GREAT! I needed to get a few b/c they stay in a room upstairs while I am at work and then I needed 2 downstairs. (I refuse to carry it up and down and the dowstairs is kinda big so I need to have one at either ends). But those dog litters boxes are about $20 a piece. I got one but I also got the clear small/shallow rubber made (wrapping paper) tubs. THEY WORK GREAT. I have to cut the wee wee pad in half for it to fit, but once they are peed on 2x I replace it.
Roxy goes in and out, TJ on the other hand is a bugger. He goes in and out of the dog litter box (I think b/c it has a shallow spot in the front to go in and out), but the rubbermade tubs are a different story...Sometimes he goes all the way in. Sometimes he puts his front legs in and either pees down the inside of the tub or just outside the tub. Other times he has his 2 front legs outside the tub, one back leg inside the tub and the other back proped ontop of the tub and pees. He is just too much!
Roxy is also a neverous pee-er. I wish I could stop that! Any ideas? |
