Your female is most likely still ready but to be honest some females just will not stand willingly for a male. She may just be to scared or not quite ready. I never let my Yorkies 'free breed'. I alway hold the female by the shoulders and let the male mount and tie the female. I always keep a firm hand on the female. Is the male experienced? If the female is ready she should be flagging her tail when the male smells of her? There is much to learning about breeding, you should not just put two dogs in a room and hope for the best. I know everyone has to start somewhere and it is good that you are seeking advise. We are not all born experts so we need to study and learn. I know I made my share of mistakes over the years. I wish I had had a good mentor when I first started raising Yorkies. There are the health issues of the male and female. Then you also have to be concerned with things like brucolosis and pyometra. Pyometra is a serious problem that can develop in unspay females as they get older.
