Oh, that is so sad. Poor girl, she doesn't realize her pups are gone. She just knows that a puppy is THERE and she's sure it's hers. I feel so bad for her. I think it's best to keep them seperate simply because I've seen some mother dogs get almost viscious protecting pups and that's how Blossom probably views things.
Trace was a litter of one. His breeder told me that even a month after he was gone, his mother was still looking for him. So she brought her over for a visit and guess what, she wouldn't have anything to do with him, growled even. My daughter said it was because he now smelled like cats (we have 3).
