When we first got my puppy, I wanted him to bond to me, to be my dog. I kept him on a leash every second we were home (helps w/ potty training), and I took him (still do) everywhere with me. My hubby knew how important it was that this was my dog, so he pretty much stayed out of the way with him. Ranger bonded to me instantly. Now, if he gets mad at me, he will go sit on Robert's lap, but the second Robert disciplines him by telling him "no" to something, Ranger gets up pretty much flips him off, and comes to his mommy!!

Maybe you could try to keep him on a leash while you're home, give him lots and lots of love, as well as the walks and food/treats. Also, take him with you everywhere possible, because I think that creates a bond. Good luck!!!
