Just because an animal is "popular" doesn't mean it necessitates more breeding. Look at all of the breeds that were once "popular" and see how many of them ended up in shelters and being euthanized

I am not trying to start something but it really upsets me to hear anyone justify a mixed(or pure for that matter) because its "popular"
