It does sound like an infection in the ears. Toto had one caused by getting water in there when she was groomed. The groomer was supposed to be pulling the hairs but the vet found that she was just sticking the scissors way down in there & snipping them off! No doubt, I am now her groomer!! Yep! She looks "gapped" and kinda ragged, but I know that she has ear plugs in her ears when she is bathed! Poor baby never scratched at her ears either but they smelled and she ran a high temperature. She was on meds for a month.
