Oh we have the same thing here. I clean it with a cloth and it comes out while its still wet. If it goes under his eye and stains I use Crystal Eye it helps to clean the dry stuff out and clean stains. What it does is it softens the gunk and its easy to get it if it is right under the eye and I cant reach it with a brush
