The best place to learn about the breed, meet breeders and decide what your type is is to attend some shows. You don't have to be an exhibitor to breed. You can be a member of the dog fancy, attend shows, study the breed and develop an eye without ever taking a dog into the ring. However I think you will find that once you have attended a couple of shows and enjoyed the comradity of people who share your passion you'll be hooked. I started showing because I wanted to breed well, now I breed so that I can show. Don't just find a breeder and a dog, find a mentor and a friend.
