Yes it's true. But before you judge and I'm not saying you are You have to realize that we as show breeders would be over run and end up looking like a puppy mill if we kept everything we showed and then bred. Now mind you I have kept the ones I've retired from showing and they will live with me forever but I have 8 yorkies now and if I continue to breed and keep everything I show and then breed it wouldn't be fair to them to keep having more and more dogs and run the risk of having them in unhealthy condions.
I only have maybe one litter a year. It's hard for me to let go of a puppy and I can't imagine letting go of a female or male but it may have to come to that one day but it will be what's in the best for my dog. And that's to be in a loving home but I"m hoping it will never come to that. And if it were to come to that at some point I would make no money because they would be placed with a family member or someone that is wanting an older yorkie "FREE" of charge
But with that said I really prefer to show than breed and my goal is to show yorkies for other people one day. I hope that made sense.
