Yesterday paypal took $215 out of my checking account and now my checking account is all screwed up and I'm in the hole!

That sucks...when I do any selling on ebay I never touch that money from the sale until everything is fine. If I were you forward the emails with the agreement of the credit to the agent that will be handeling the case. Once they see that they will release the funds accordingly.
Sorry that it messed up your bills.
